ENGLISH
On Sunday, 5 October, the rooms of Vrouw aan het IJ Women & Girls Centershimmered with color and curiosity.
Children mixed and melted in the Cosmetic Science Lab, tried the AI Voice-Bot, free-built with bamboo, made slime, and set off mini-volcanoes—then we all stepped outside for dry-ice clouds, giant bubbles, and Mentos-Cola geysers. Parents joined in, volunteers guided with care, and every smile whispered: science is for me. Each child left with a handmade creation, a goodie bag, and fresh confidence to keep exploring.
Warm thanks to Sisters in Science, Operation Periscoop, Studio Metaform, Winclove Probiotics, and NEMO Science Museumfor standing with community science.

The AHA! Club is a free STEAM program for girls ages 8-12 and 13-15 designed to inspire creativity, confidence and curiosity.

Each week we take girls on a mental journey around the world - exploring geography, architecture, nature etc. while empowering them to break stigmas and see themselves are future scientists, engineers and innovators.

It's all about discovery, skill-building, and showing girls that STEAM careers are for them.

(science, tech and math) to building sandcastles (engineering and art)

STEAM is a part of your lives even when we do not realize it.

STEAM is as natural as our shadow: something girls have but never noticed."

GIRLS' BRIGHT FUTURE IN STEAM

Empowering Girls in STEAM

At AHA! Club, we believe that every girl has the potential to excel in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM). Unfortunately, societal stereotypes and misconceptions often create barriers that discourage girls from exploring these dynamic and rewarding fields.

Why Girls in STEAM Matters

The inclusion of girls in STEAM is essential for building a diverse, innovative, and equitable future. Women bring unique perspectives, creativity, and problem-solving skills that enrich the world of science and technology. Breaking down these barriers not only empowers individuals but also strengthens communities and industries by fostering innovation and inclusion.

What We Do

The AHA! Club is instrumental in transforming the narrative by providing girls with hands-on experiences in STEAM. Our programs are designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and nurture a passion for learning. From coding workshops to engineering challenges and art-infused science projects, we offer a supportive space where girls can explore, experiment, and excel.

Inspiring Better Career Choices

By engaging girls in STEAM early, we empower them to envision diverse career paths that align with their passions and strengths. We’re dedicated to helping them see that they are not only capable of succeeding in STEAM but also of leading the way.

Together, we can challenge outdated beliefs and create opportunities for every girl to thrive in STEAM. Join us at the AHA! Club and be part of a community that’s shaping the future, one girl at a time.
